Life Skills Courses
The Life Skills Project works closely with the people at New Forest Mencap (NFM) to explore the skills and hobbies they’re interested in. We create courses with the aim of developing independence and growing confidence in the area of interest.
We also have two brilliant service user groups who support New Forest Mencap (NFM).
Digital Group – who meet every Wednesday 6pm-8pm in New Milton. They run NFM’s social media, create our advertisement (e.g. posters), reformatted our newsletter to ensure it was accessible and are now responsible for creating our newsletter twice a year, they’re also supporting the development of this website!
Action Together – meet online and in person supporting NFM in many ways. They planned and executed our latest fundraising event, team up with the digital group as accessibility consultants on the newsletter and website development, discuss partnerships with local companies and are currently working on a local activism campaign to improve access to Hampshire buses.
